Tibetan Tees project – The four main parties involved in this project are Fayettechill, Heart Hunters Consulting, the University of Arkansas (Students for a Free Tibet, Apparel Studies Department, Fulbright Honors Dept.) and the Tibetan Cultural Institute of Arkansas (TCIA, primarily by Geshe Dorjee – our major connection point to Tibetan refugees living in India).
HHC has volunteered it’s time on this project and we are working in partnership with our client Fayettechill on this worthwhile endeavor. HHC is working with our team in India and the refugees at the settlement to source the fabric and train the workers on production methods. After the first sample run of tee shirts HHC hopes to be able work with the Tibetan refugees on other projects through training and education. At some point in time in the future HHC hopes to be able to offer this wonderful sustainable production opportunity to our clients.
The goal of the Tibetan Tees project it to facilitate the production of 100 short sleeve tee shirts in the Dekyiling village – a Tibetan refugee settlement just outside of new Delhi. More information on the village itself can be found here – http://www.centraltibetanreliefcommittee.org/settlements/india/north/dekyiling.html
